Leadership matters… whether it be in the classroom, in business, in a school district, in community organizations, or in higher education. We look to leaders to inspire and influence, engage and serve the larger context of our community. We need leaders who bring a commitment to serving those most in need to the forefront along with a ‘call to action’ in the transformation.
These are the attributes that have been evident in the work of our new President, Rev. James J. Maher, C.M., in the months leading up to this week- the celebration of his inauguration. We know that Father Maher has engaged our international university community in a “listening tour” over the past few months… listening to and learning from our students (graduate and undergraduate), our alumni, our faculty and staff, and our community. During the inauguration, we expect him to share his aspirations, vision and strategic directions for Niagara University; leveraging the influence of the university as witnessed through our students and graduates.
We look forward to running with Father Maher in the Run Against Hunger 5K on Saturday and walking with him as he inspires and influences, engages and serves as the 26th President of Niagara University.
